Hi, I'm David Strassel.

I dropped out from civilization in 2018, moved from the Bay Area to Park City, Utah, and haven't done much of anything since then. My background is mostly tech and institutional finance. I've traded foreign exchange, architected and contributed code to trading and financial data systems, and spent way too many years as a technology analyst, thinking and writing about things like the consumer internet, commerce, adtech, user engagement, content monetization, blah, blah, blah...

My interests span from technology and financial content to markets, economic and demographic data. I'm a fan of the concept of meta and the acts of aggregation and curation. I am, and always will be, a geek who enjoys building digital things. My IRL interests include reading, riding, climbing, hiking and exploring in my Jeeps.

My latest project is CompactAdvice, a quote aggregator with a vertical focus. I love great quotes, they're Pareto applied to wisdom. This is just a fun project that I hope finds an audience. I'll share occasional updates on the technical approach, content and other stuff here.
